FUN-FACT-FRIDAY: April 29, 2011

FUN FACT PEOPLE.......blogging online is impossible without the internet.

FUN FACT....I like fun facts

FUN FACT....this blog is way late because the internet sometimes decides to go on strike.

FUN FACT...NFL officials ordered team owners to lift the lockout, now even if they hadn't, it still wouldn't have stopped the NFL draft from taking place.

FUN FACT...One possible route for my road trip to California will take 39 hrs and 16 minutes.

FUN FACT..."wenis" is the slang term for the skin on your elbow...your can pull it and twist it and it doesn't hurt....and yes..."wenis" rhymes with what you think it does...

FUN FACT...I am tired..

USE THE WATER HOSE!

THIRSTY THURSDAY: April 28, 2011

So we have had alot of rain and storms lately...hmm...makes me have to go pee....makes me think about naps...makes me think about playing in the rain....oh yea...*cough*...AND it makes me THIRSTY OF COURSE!

THE ULTIMATE THIRST QUENCHER!!!!!! H2O YO!

Back in the day we would run in and out of my grandma's house constantly to get something to drink or get some food....but mostly drink because we were fighting most of the time about some kind of nonsense and we got tired quickly. Needless to say, Grandma got tired of it after a while and it was either "IN OR OUT!" .... we chose outside of course but when we got thirsty we would be at he screen asking for something to drink...."USE THE WATER HOSE!".......

and so we did.

You may be saying...."EW, you drank water out of the water hose!".....um, yes, and  I also drink water from tap...out of the sink...from PWC! OH KNOW!

I'm not dead yet guys...still alive and still kickin'! THE WATER IS SAFE! lol

I'm sorry if you are one of those people that drink only expensive bottled water. SMH. Now they ARE convenient and they have some kick ass bottles but what if "shit hits the fan"  and bottled water is no longer available....better get used to drinking dirty water!

My point is...if you ever get to the point of almost thirsting to death...there is NOTHING like H2O to quench your thirst!

Tip for more water intake: Replace your beverage for 1 meal in your day with a water.

already do that? Drink a whole glass before you eat your meal

H2O and You: [courtesy of allaboutwater.org]
  1. Roughly 70 percent of an adult’s body is made up of water.
  2. At birth, water accounts for approximately 80 percent of an infant’s body weight.
  3. A healthy person can drink about three gallons (48 cups) of water per day.
  4. Drinking too much water too quickly can lead to water intoxication. Water intoxication occurs when water dilutes the sodium level in the bloodstream and causes an imbalance of water in the brain.
  5. Water intoxication is most likely to occur during periods of intense athletic performance.
  6. While the daily recommended amount of water is eight cups per day, not all of this water must be consumed in the liquid form. Nearly every food or drink item provides some water to the body.
  7. Soft drinks, coffee, and tea, while made up almost entirely of water, also contain caffeine. Caffeine can act as a mild diuretic, preventing water from traveling to necessary locations in the body.
  8. Pure water (solely hydrogen and oxygen atoms) has a neutral pH of 7, which is neither acidic nor basic.
  9. Water dissolves more substances than any other liquid. Wherever it travels, water carries chemicals, minerals, and nutrients with it.
  10. Somewhere between 70 and 75 percent of the earth’s surface is covered with water.
  11. Much more fresh water is stored under the ground in aquifers than on the earth’s surface.
  12. The earth is a closed system, similar to a terrarium, meaning that it rarely loses or gains extra matter. The same water that existed on the earth millions of years ago is still present today.
  13. The total amount of water on the earth is about 326 million cubic miles of water.
  14. Of all the water on the earth, humans can used only about three tenths of a percent of this water. Such usable water is found in groundwater aquifers, rivers, and freshwater lakes.
  15. The United States uses about 346,000 million gallons of fresh water every day.
  16. The United States uses nearly 80 percent of its water for irrigation and thermoelectric power.
  17. The average person in the United States uses anywhere from 80-100 gallons of water per day. Flushing the toilet actually takes up the largest amount of this water.
  18. Approximately 85 percent of U.S. residents receive their water from public water facilities. The remaining 15 percent supply their own water from private wells or other sources.
  19. By the time a person feels thirsty, his or her body has lost over 1 percent of its total water amount.
  20. The weight a person loses directly after intense physical activity is weight from water, not fat.

B Well With Yourself

WELLNESS WEDNESDAY: April 27, 2011

Step 1: Be well with yourself

Question 1:
Who are you?....no really take a second and answer that...take a snapshot and define yourself and be honest...if we can't be honest with ourselves then we are living lost...its like telling ourselves were at point B when were really at point A on the map...so while it would only take you 5 steps to get to C from A and 2 from B your 3 steps off course....CONFUSED?!...exactly my point...so BE HONEST with yourself!

Take your time, get to know you

Question 2:
If you were a slave and you had a master but you could choose any type of master, what would be their characteristics?

Question 3:
If you were a slave master, how would you treat your slaves?

....wait...we have only been enslaved by ourselves... we don't know who we are or what we stand for. Stand up for what you appreciate and appreciate what your about; then at the end of the day no one can say anything about what you do........because you know who you are and why you are yourself...basically, you can stand up for yourself.

Step 2: B Well with yourself

Vitamin B's to be specific...I say "B" plural because Vitamin B is actually referred to as Vitamin B1, B2,B3,B5,B6,B7,B9,B12...

Some benefits from your B Vitamins include increased metabolism, healthy skin and muscle tone, enhanced immune system and recent studies suggest a protective effect against pancreatic cancer(only when taken from one-carbon nutrients or whole unprocessed foods). (Each "B" having its own benefits)

Lets stick with the whole unprocessed foods please...like a banana...why? because it starts with a B of course...

A... banana contains Vitamin B1,2,3,6,9 (also vitamin K, potassium) (and a banana makes your feel full longer)...

Just eat a banana everyday....stay lookin' good...B well

STEP 3: (my favorite)

ITS A 2 IN 1!

MELLOW MONDAY: April 25, 2011

Yesterday's Mellow Monday is actually on Tuesday with a combined blog. Monday, turned out to be somewhat eventful. I had planned to post after an open mic that I had attended at the Coffee Scene, which btw is very chill, but instead a friend and I played ambulance and took a friend to the hospital. Our friend that resembles Fergie made this weeks blog because she is one of the only people I know that can jam to club music at 3:00 a.m. while throwing up while being driven around a military base. That a way to keep it mellow!

If I can take a little bit to promo the Coffee Scene I will let you know that on Sunday nights they have poetry night and on Monday nights they have acoustic night. The sign up sheet is on the table about 630 to 645 and the mic opens up between 730 and 8. Grab a friend and a coffee and come chill this coming weekend. The good vibes are sure to rub off on you!

I played 3 songs this past Monday night and broke a string during the second song! It happened to be a song that I wrote while I was pissed off at a lady...karma? no, I think I was just playing with too much passion...lol....whatever the case, special thanks goes out to Nicole who let me play her guitar for my last song despite the obvious danger of her having her guitar returned to her broken. MERCIE!

SAY HELLO TO THE KIWI!

For years the strawberry was my favorite fruit...until I discovered...the Kiwifruit or KIWI!!

Kiwi is a rich source of vitamin C, 1.5 times the DRI scale in the US. Its potassium content by weight is slightly less than that of a banana. It also contains vitamin E, and a small amount of vitamin A.The skin is a good source of flavonoid antioxidants. The kiwifruit seed oil contains on average 62% alpha-linolenic acid, an omega-3 fatty acid. Usually a medium size kiwifruit contains about 46 calories, 0.3 g fat, 1 g protein, 11 g carbohydrates, and 2.6 g dietary fiber found partly in the edible skin. Kiwi is often reported to have mild laxative effects, due to its significant level of dietary fiber.

Fun Fact about KIWI...Kiwifruit Day is on December 21....my birthday also happens to fall on that day!

HAVE YOU EVER PLAYED MADDEN NFL FOOTBALL GAMES?! The man behind the magic is John Madden, a real NFL superstar (Played for the Philadelphia Eagles, coached the Oakland Raiders, commentated for years and has his own video game). Here are some movies that he's appeared in:

Saturday Night Live – 2 episodes
P.K. and the Kid
Little Giants
The Simpsons – 1 episode
Arli$$ – 1 episode
Big Game XXVIII: Road Runner vs. Coyote
The Replacements
Big Gave XXIX: Bugs vs. Daffy
U2: The Best of 1999-2000
ABC’s 50th Anniversary Celebration
G-Phoria
Rebels of Oakland: The A’s, the Raiders, the ’70s

OH YEA!....fun fact...

John Madden has not boarded an airplane since 1979...

Sry Jazzi3J, hope you can afford an $800,000 SUV.
His transport isn't Amtrak or Greyhound. It's the ultimate SUV -- an $800,000, 45-foot luxury coach fitted with everything from sauna to gourmet galley.

He doesn't fly because he had "a full blown panic attack" on an airplane due to claustrophobia.

TRULY MIXED!

THIRSTY THURSDAY: April 21, 2011

Today may be one of the most creative Thirsty Thursdays we will ever have! Why you ask???

What do you do when you have a handle of Jose Cuervo and just a few drops left of margarita mix?!
REACH FOR THE ICE POPS!!!! That's right...Ice Pops. Since Ice Pops are so amazing, I am going to capitalise "Ice Pops" throughout this entire blog...

For every mixed drink (1 shot) use 3 Ice Pops. I mean these things are so cheap, who doesn't mind using 3?! And who's gonna act like they secretly don't want to eat 3 Ice Pops every time they open the freezer anyways...so give me a break people!
So what you do is:

Pour your shot in a glass

next

Crush your Ice Pops...by any means possible
I chose beating the living daylights out of it against the kitchen counter (you can actually crush it with your hands but some parts are just too frozen for the fingers)

next

Squeeze the Ice Pops out into your glass and stir

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

For my drink, I used 2 different flavors or "colors":
2 green and 1 red

...this is what was born...

 a minute or 2 later...

With a mixture like this, the green and red colors are separated when it is first made and as you drink it (as the ice melts) the colors combine and I ended up with an orange drink. I thought that was pretty neato.

I have no idea if this idea has already been expressed or published by some other mind but I will say that this is certainly an idea that I will remember in the future!

THIS DRINK HAS NO NAME SO LEAVE YOUR IDEAS IN THE COMMENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!

THREE LITTLE BIRDS

WELLNESS WEDNESDAY: 4/20

In the wake of this past weekends storms AND talking with a few of my closest friends about different issues that we all have been going through and dealing with, Ive thought alot about the effect that our outlook of our future has on our life and circumstances.  I am not the first to think of this of course. If you've ever been asked the question "Do you see the glass as half empty or half full?" then you know what I am talking about.

well how do you look at the glass that's half of something? I mean, your in the middle...aren't you.

The truth is, we can look at every situation we encounter with 2 different kinds of attitudes:

POSITIVE or NEGATIVE

Example: I was at work one day and my RF sound system was stolen out of my car in the bank's parking lot.

I. was. pissed. Ive had that system for 7 or 8 years and it still thumped!! I mean, this thing would flex the roof of my old SUV and now it was the only excellent thing about my not so excellent Honda (which I love btw)

But I reasoned with my anger... "think about this anger, I needed the trunk space to pack stuff in to get to California"

Easy right? not so easy but none the less it worked for the moment and I quickly got over it.

Now that is nothing compared to what people as I speak are dealing with. In Japan people are battling radiation not to mention the loss of loved ones and homes. Even in our own back yard on the West side of Fayetteville, NC people are dealing with the same thing as Tornadoes ripped through their homes and exposed their lives, their belongings, their treasures...their loved ones. My mom told me about a custodian with Cumberland County schools that lost her father, her son, and her home. Now who am I to tell this woman that the glass is half full.

The truth is I can only be a little bird to put it in her ear.

I have had my own bumps and potholes in my own path and have my own scars and blisters that have gotten me to point I am at now. See my path only gets more potholes and bumps and the incline gets steeper as I travel up this mountain called life. Understand that I have had to go through the pain of these things so I can become calloused and overcome the bigger obstacles that lay ahead of me. I am going to cross paths with people that look like they are having trouble and they may have a similar injury that I have had and the only way that they can make it to the summit of this life is if they have a little help from someone who understands. ("Understanding" is something to think about.)

A man told me one time, "when you get to that point that you can't go any further...go a little further"

...go a little further

have these things, faith, hope and love...."and the greatest of these is love"

Consider this people:  all our conversations are about what you or someone else is doing, going to do, have done, likes to do, likes to obtain...you get the picture. Life is about people and it is CRUCIAL that we recognize this. So be a bird of positivity passing the message of hope, faith and love!

I'll leave you with this,
We can look at life however we would like because there are infinite possibilities and infinite paths that you can take and claim as your own. Just remember to keep climbing and keep looking at your glass half full..even if you have nothing in your glass, you still have a glass, so go fill it up and give someone that is thirsty a drink!

"No one would remember the Good Samaritan if he only had good intentions"

OH SO DIVAN!

TASTY TUESDAY: April 19, 2011

Bonjour! ca'va? I hope you guys are well today! I certainly am feeling tres bein!

You may be thinking...WTF is divan?! And WTF are you doing speaking French?! well...

di·van
–adjective (esp. of chicken or turkey breast)
sliced and baked in a casserole with broccoli and hollandaise sauce.

Origin:
of uncertain origin; perhaps a representation in E spelling of French divin  (divine)

...our Tasty Tuesday is truly divine so please excuse my French!

CHICKEN DIVAN

3 chicken breasts
1 bag broccoli florets
1 bag sharp cheddar cheese
1 can creme of chicken
1/2 cup of mayo (DUKES btw is the only REAL mayo)
Bread crumbs

This recipe fed 4 of us comfortably
(These ingredients can be changed according to what you like of course..except the mayo and the chicken)

OVEN: Pre heat at 350
             Bake for 45 min.

All you have to do is:
cook your chicken (grilled, baked, fried, campfire, basically whatever is kickin' chicken)
cook your broccoli (steamed, grilled, campfire...you get the picture)
mix mayo and creme of chicken

In a casserole dish:
add your broccoli as the bottom layer
add your chicken as the next layer
add your creme of chicken/mayo mix next
add layer of cheese (as much as you like)
add layer of bread crumbs (as much as you like) [ "You just have to use common sence!"-Just_Chass]

VOILA!

The result:
A real taste of heaven that was cheap and easy! (If you keep cooking like this then you will be mistaken as a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu)

Special thanks to Just_Chass for this recipe and prep, also thank you for providing us with delightful chocolate chip and banana nut muffins for desert!

BON APPETIT! (pictures not included because we ate it too fast!)

iM gONNA tURN tHIS uPSIDEDOWN

Its Mello Monday, close your eyes and get away for a while.

"Upside Down"

Who's to say
What's impossible
Well they forgot
This world keeps spinning
And with each new day
I can feel a change in everything
And as the surface breaks reflections fade
But in some ways they remain the same
And as my mind begins to spread its wings
There's no stopping curiosity

I want to turn the whole thing upside down
I'll find the things they say just can't be found
I'll share this love I find with everyone
We'll sing and dance to Mother Nature's songs
I don't want this feeling to go away

Who's to say
I can't do everything
Well I can try
And as I roll along I begin to find
Things aren't always just what they seem

I want to turn the whole thing upside down
I'll find the things they say just can't be found
I'll share this love I find with everyone
We'll sing and dance to Mother Nature's songs
This world keeps spinning and there's no time to waste
Well it all keeps spinning spinning round and round and

Upside down
Who's to say what's impossible and can't be found
I don't want this feeling to go away

Please don't go away
Please don't go away
Please don't go away
Is this how it's supposed to be
Is this how it's supposed to be

JUST GOT BACK FROM DA BEACH BOI!!!!

I am going to rap about the weekend......but first, picture this:

Me and the crew is walkin' down this public beach access right, beautiful million dolla homes surround us, each lookin' like the grass is greener on the other side. Im carrying my guitar and scrape the side of the wooden walkway that leads to the dunes...its whateva', it adds characta', get to the end to find a sign that basically says dont swim because or you might get sick because its dirty water...its whateva', we like the weatha'. Get out on the beach, set up shop, sun atop, temperatures hot, got a soda pop...no i dont but it rhymes...the homies hit da beeboppinest beat and it was on like donkey kong...

Hey! what do you say,
Im in Myrtle Beach and Its the end of the day,
It was Friday, Friday,
We all hit da hot tub,
My boy was snappin shots at the old guys gettin' drunk,
One said "no pictures please"
ha ha ha just say cheese...
We got down in the kitchen on sausage dogs, the beez neez!
All kinds of talk goin' on all around the pool,
This guys hands me a dominican, now Im lookin' cool,
oops I dropped it in the water, now I look like a douche,
Dont hold it against me dude,
no need to be rude,
I'll talk to Pat instead,
His golf score to yours? You're high, enough said.
Get back to the condo and cant believe what I saw,
some things cant be said here because it's so raw,
so the next day, saturday, (man I hate that song)
It was raining now its sunny, what can go wrong?
Grab a beer and hit da beach
who do I see, is that Cheech?!
Turned as red as a lobster,
burned, dont hit me or I'll holler,
Hit up an omellette and headed to the discount store,
My boys lookin sick, man get him some toast.
bought beer and liquor, they took my picture, Im not 25, thats new to me jigga'
HEY its Sir Hames,
He passed us on King St, the first street that was paved,
Fun fact, I dont slack and now were back to the club,
Its 3 connected, we got passes, yo, thats whats up,
six shots in finger glasses,
man fill up my cup!
its the S.O.D. Krew comin' through ,
Its Swagger on Deck, hey that sounds cool,
But really, were all stoopid,
but were barely some fools.
Before we start to lose we hit up some late night food,
but its not regular, its sure to boost your mood.
"Calamari for the table, lobster tails is what I'll have"
my dude said that, he was wearing ray bans,
Jazzi3J picked up the tab we all tried to catch a cab,
Ended up in a truck on 26 inch riiiims,
7 of us trippin back to the Carribean,
I got a free ride, somebody please tip him,
Hit the hot tub but it was too late,
they turned off the jets, it was cold, this is old, NO WAY!
Hot shower on sunburn man when will I learn,
Not on Sunday cause Im just gonna take another turn,
Wake up wake up wake up,
check out, check out, check out
House keeping lady all trying to get loud.
Hit the beach, rollin' deep so dont tread on me,
And even if you do im still gone make peace,
I scrape my guitar, Its whateva' it adds characta'
pass a sign "dirty water", Its whateva' we like the weatha'
Here I am burned again,
caught a cold, no Im playin'........

"OHHHHHHH SNAP SON!"

good night.

MYRTLE BEACH NEW TOWN?

FUN-FACT-FRIDAYS: April 15, 2011

Whats up errbody! Since Im going on yet another trip to one of the most well known beaches in the world I thought I would study up and see what I didn't know about Myrtle Beach...

A man by the name of Franklin Borroughs and another man built a railroad to transport timber from the coast. (Conway & Seashore Railroad). It was nicknamed New Town. Borroughs saw New Town being a tourist destination that would rival the booming Florida beaches. Borroughs died in 1897 but his sons continued his work in the town. In 1957 it was incorporated and his wife suggested that the beach be named after an abundant shrub in the area, the Southern Wax Myrtle. And so it was called Myrtle Beach.

It looks like Franklin was on to something....here are son fun facts about one of our most famous beaches in the south:

Oceanfront Property News!
Oceanfront lots in Myrtle Beach were $25 in 1905. If you built a property for at least $500 you received a second lot for free.
Over 1400 Restaurants
Serving up everything from seafood Calabash style to Japanese. But for a local specialty, try a restaurant which offers Lowcountry-style cooking - simmered slow and rich in spices - dining at its best!
Over 3,300,000 golf rounds played in 1993
Intra-Coastal Waterway
Was originally built in order to be used as a secret passageway during World War II.
Home of the Shag
This colorful dance is thought to have originated on Ocean Drive in the 1940's during the heyday of the fast-moving Jitterbug. Apparently, the Shag began as an attempt to do the Jitterbug but a little too much to drink slowed the dance down.

Well, time to shag guys. I hope you enjoy your weekend as much as I will. Looking forward to some silly things to come on SUNDAY FUNDAY!

PICK YOUR SIX!

Thirsty Thursday: April14, 2011

ITS THIRSTY THURSDAY AND IVE BEEN WAITING ALL WEEK FOR TODAY...so lets get right to it!

A new Food Lion just opened up on the new bypass @1738 Bingham Dr in Fayetteville NC and it has one of the coolest beer sections. (If you have been to an existing Food Lion store lately then you have noticed that they are updating the deli and beer sections) At the front of the beer section in this new store there was a larger cooler with all kinds of beers with a small white sign at the bottom that said "Build your own six pack...Mix and match" for $8.99...... "double take"......did I just see what I just think I saw? yes and I have the pictures to prove it in this weeks Thirsty Thursday: PICK YOUR SIX!

This store had many beers to choose from. On the right side, cut out of the picture, there were Coronas availible and up top there was a whole row of different flavored Smirnoff Ice beers. The Following are the beers that were lucky enough to be the chosen out of two six packs:

MAGIC HAT Summer Seasonal: 4.5% alc./vol.
"Wacko" is slapped across the label but whats really wacko is the beer is really a crisp one. I like this beer. Magic Hat is famous for their sayings listed underneath the cap and this particular one said "remove before drinking"....ah i love it.

OBERON ALE Wheat Ale: 5.8% alc./vol.
This beer has "The scent of a summer afternoon"...and it really does smell that way.

MAGIC HAT #9: 5.1% alc./vol.
If you haven't tried it, try it. This cap said "your phone is ringing"....but it actually was not at the time...but it makes you think....lol

NORTHERN LIGHTS India Pale Ale: 6.5% alc./vol.
This beer's Master Brewer is Mark A. Thompson. On the side of the label the enjoy date is actually notched out of the paper. This beers date was July of 2011. I love July...but I do not love this beer. TOO much bite for me but maybe a little salt would have taken care of that.

WOODCHUCK Hard Cider: 5% alc./vol.
This is a favorite of many beer lovers and it also happens to be Gluten free!

SIERRA NEVADA Pale Ale: 5.6% alc./vol.
What I love about this beer is that it is brewed in Chico, CA!

SWEET WATER 420 Extra Pale Ale: 5.4% alc./vol.
Don't Float The Main Stream and "Drink em' if you got em'" drift across the label along with a fish splashing out of the water. This beer had high expectations on the label...but the beer feel short of the best.

WILD BLUE BERRY LOGGER: 8% alc./vol.
What can I say? This beer blue my mind! It really does taste like a blueberry beer should taste like. It's like a carbonated blueberry drink that also happens to have the highest alcohol content on our list today and wins the award in my book for the most satisfying beer of the night.

DOS EQUIS (2 X'S): 4.8% alc./vol.
This beer has been crafted in Mexico since 1897 and taste like..well...I couldn't really taste this beer. It was the first time I had ever tried it and it just didn't taste like a beer. It was good  though...and most intersting....

My thirst was definatly quenched after tasting all this beer and this discovery would not have been possible without two of my partners in crime, Jazzi3J and Just_Chass! Your contributions are always appreciated!

This weekend if your thirsty, hit up the new Food Lion and pick your six!!

HARMONY & BALANCE

Wellness Wednesday: April 13, 2011

Whats up cyber buddies?! Truth is our spirits should be! Since it is in fact Wed., we have alot to look forward to! Today is HUMP DAY, go hump something (that is always fun...unless you are the humpee, not always fun). Today also means that some of you may be going to church, I am sure that it will be exciting and insightful for you! Others, well tonight is the night when everyone who doesn't go to church stays in and watches television or you may be the one who checks out the Wed. specials at your local bar! YOU MAY EVEN DO ALL 3!!! What is today for me? ITS WELLNESS WEDNESDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last week I came across a green armband (similar to the famous "Livestrong" bands that Lance Armstrong put out) that a friend gave me years ago that says "HARMONY & BALANCE"

I found these definitions very interesting:

bal·ance (in winemaking) the degree to which all the attributes of a wine are in harmony, with none either too prominent or deficient.

har·mo·ny agreement in action, opinion, feeling, etc; accord

well·ness the quality or state of being healthy in body and mind, especially as the result of deliberate effort.

de·lib·er·ate to weigh in the mind; consider

While considering all of these things and also considering my own life (past and present) I have come to realize that you cannot accomplish any of your personal goals or any goals within your own organization or business unless you have a few things:  Help, Honor, Harmony

The catalyst that you need to speed up this process: Balance

What does all this have to do with Wellness?! Everything. I would dare to say that one thing everyone would love to have is a thing called:

self-ac·tu·al·i·za·tion the achievement of one's full potential through creativity, independence, spontaneity, and a grasp of the real world (I call this being well)

To achieve self acualization you need every part of you working together for the whole. Your mind, soul and body.  Think of it this way your car cannot get you to point B unless the engine runs, you have gas in your tank and tires that aren't flat...you also need somehting directing that vehicle to safely get you there.  Too much gas and you flood your engine, not enough oil and you burn your engine, too much pressure in your tires and they might blow and if you don't have someone with a destination in mind driving, then you'll run out of gas, blow a tire, run your engine ragged or get lost....get the picture?! Were not even talking about the appearance of the car yet!

I will leave you with this for now...

Through the upcoming Wellness Wednesdays I want you to keep this in mind as we consider together, our own wellness:

Consider your life. YOU are the driver. Where is your point B? Is your body working with your mind? Your Mind with your soul? Do you have balance? (you can be well without balance but it means that you are unstable and could "fall" at anytime)

P.S.
Always remember to keep looking at every situation with a half full cup (it is our choice to look at it either half full or half empty you know)

3 Course Meal

Tasty Tuesday: April 12, 2011

Hola everybody! I'm in a siestive mood right now because I've just gotten back from Mi Casita, the best Mexican establishment in the south, besides South of the Border that is...

Anyway, we have a 3 Course meal that were going to get into. The first part of the meal takes us back to the place that I have just returned, Mi Casita!! I had lunch there today with 3 beautiful ladies, my mom, my sis and my niece Emmy B.  Anytime you go to this place, you have to get down on the legendary chips and salsa! My sister was runing late, so my mom and I, ran through that first bag of chips like America runs through its money...We had to ask for more and fast!...Tiff was on her way and we needed a chip bail out! Thank god those things are endless, another reason why this item has made its mark on todays menu! Apart from just being amazing, chips and salsa at Mi Casita opens a whole new realm to your salsalosophy. They now offer a free salsa bar which offers a wide variety of your favorite salsas to choose from. (take it from Moe's, it's a good idea). My favorite dip that they offer there is the cheese dip! Served hot, it melts you insides with warm cheesy love! Today, however, we enjoyed our chips with their house salsa and a side of sour cream...don't ask, just try please. :)   (courtesy of my sister)...

...Which brings us to our main course and also happens to be our recipe of the week! I got this recipe from my sister and some friends and I tried it out last night. IT IS CHEAP AND EASY AND IT. IS. DELICIOUS!

Macaroni Lasagna!

2 boxes of macaroni and cheese (any kind)  ($1.50 per box)
1 lb. of groud beef ($2.50)
1 pack Mozzarella cheese ($2.00)
1 jar spaghetti sauce ($2.00)
Bread (optioal) ($1.50)

This recipe feeds 4 and for 2 people just use 1 box of macaroni and cheese.

All you do is cook the macaroni and cheese, brown the hamburger and add a little spaghetti sauce for taste (not saucy). In a baking dish, layer half of the macaroni and cheese then half of the meat. Repeat and layer the top with as much Mozzarella as you want. I prefer lots! Pre heat your oven to 350 and bake until your cheese melts or until your liking. It will not take long because all the food is ALREADY cooked.
Trust me guys, this is a keeper!

At last we need something for desert! I for one, have brownies in the oven right now. My own special recipe.  I love them....chocolate motha fudge brownies. Wagner, your batch is also in the oven right now with mine. Happy birthday bro, I'll have em' shipped out to you tomorrow!

That does it for the 3 course meal: Mi Casita Chips and Salsa, Macaroni Lasagna and Choco Motha Fudge brownies!

Shout outs go out today to my mom, lunch is always interesting with you there! (especialy today lol I love you mom...next time remember your wallet :)) Also to my sis Tiff, thanks for the recipe! And to Jamie and Chass, thanks for preparing that bomb ass lasagna!

....delicious....
