THIRSTY THURSDAY!: May 26, 2011 FUN FACT FRIDAY!: May 27, 2011
There was a Mellow Monday once...May 2, 2011 to be exact, and things got sour! Those lemons life gave me got squeezed and became the best lemonade I've ever tasted. Nantucket Nectars Squeezed Lemonade. This stuff was introduced to me a few years ago by a lady named Shelva (thank you). These guys (Tom and Tom) who met in college decided to move to Nantucket and make a living apart from the shirt and tie lifestyle. They started selling juice off of their boat that they delivered news papers, coffee and laundry to visiting boatman that couldn't access such things very easily. They decided to call their juice Nantucket Nectars. The Juice Guys come through with this weeks Thirsty Thursday!
You may be asking yourself....why do you have Thirsty Thursday and Fun Fact Friday up there?!?!?!?!?!?!

How goes it? It's been a while since the last Tasty Tuesday but I'm back with a Brazilian....no not a bikini wax...Brazilian cuisine my friends! I was introduced to this spot located on Sunset Bl. called Bossa Nova. We ordered out one night last week and tonight we decided to give them a visit on the boulevard. The owners that opened up this place in 1993 have one philosophy, Keep the passion alive and never give up on your dreams. It has seemed to have worked because they now have 4 locations in Los Angeles.
What did I order off the menu that was so tasty?!?! well in honor of the street that this particular eatery was located on (Sunset Bl), I had to go with the Sunset Pasta:
I got mine with fettuccine noodles but what else is in it??? well, fresh asparagus, skinless boneless chicken breast, onions, fresh mushrooms in a cream sauce.
The meal on a scale from 1 to 10....very tasty. Check this place out if you are ever in the area or just feast your eyes on the web with pics and everything!! www.bossanovafood.com
BTW...did I mention this place is open until 4 a.m. on the weekends.......whaaaaaaaaa?
Let's make this short and sweet since it's so late.....
Whats not so fun, being under the weather on a Sunday Funday :(
Whats really fun, everyone is still here after the end of the world!.... ....and staying in and playing video games all day cause your under the weather :)
Thinking about all that's fun and not so fun, I think of the most important age old question that everyone has been asking......
.........

What would you do for a Klondike Bar? leave answers in the comments section!

There was alot of hype about parts of I-40 being closed today and detours on the news and the internet...and trust me there should be. The river is pretty high...which reminds me, Bob Marley passed away 30 years ago today from malignant melanoma. Here is one thing he has had to say...
"Life is one big road with lots of signs. So when you riding through the ruts, don't complicate your mind. Flee from hate, mischief and jealousy. Don't bury your thoughts, put your vision to reality. Wake Up and Live!"
— Bob Marley
With 3 more days of driving alone you could say that I have a "pretty" long road ahead of me...but I intend pun...
Things will ALWAYS be rough if you constantly dwell on what you believe to be negative. Free your mind and think on things that are good.
So I will enjoy the beauty of the road that I travel, think on things that are good and look forward to the sunset that awaits at the end of the path...
and with that, let's get back to the river...
I 40 was clear though and I didn't run into a storm until about an hour out of Oklahoma City.
Walked around Bricktown a little while this evening when I got here and caught a AAA baseball game.
Today was my longest drive of my 5 day trip but it wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be.
Albuquerque NM here I come.
Quote Ive often thought about during this trip:
Christopher McCandless wrote in a book before he died "Happiness only real when shared"
Dinner was delicious. Mainly because of the human contact after being on the road all day. The food was also delicious! I was on my way to this place called John A's, which is some kind of Irish bar/live music that has had some famous people stop in and share their 2 cents, but I passed this place called Caney Fork...I was like "WT"...with a name like that...they must have a seat for me...and they did...at the bar.
First I ordered a Michaloeb Ultra (my favorite)
Then, "she said" I'll get you some "corn fritters"...again, I was like...WT....then the bar tender was like..."Its a funnle cake"...AH BRING THEM OUT THEN!
The main course, Caney Chicken...whats included in that?:
glad you asked...Chicken breast grilled to perfection covered with pepperjack cheese, onions, mushrooms and bacon. My sides were "campfire potatoes" (which are just potatoes cut into chunks with grilled onions served over them) and brocolli...mmmmm brocolli!
Now even though they played only country music....I totally advise you to check this place out...they have a sweet bar! check em' out at http://www.caneyforkfishcamp.com/ !!
Now Chew on this....Virginia Highway Patrol enforces the speed limit by AIRCRAFT...these signs are posted everywhere..."What is this, Need For Speed?!"
.....well, while I was searching for this "aircraft", I failed to see the unmarked Trooper J. Day sitting in the bushes....87 in a 70...he got me for wreckless driving and my court date is in June, in Virginia...looks like I'll be eating that one.
That's right.....Mom made spaghetti yestadiddy and I can tell you...that things got messy!!! Which is why this weeks Tasty Tuesday features my oldest niece DJ...almost 2
The spaghetti, of course, was quite delicious on this particular evening and DJ had the perfect non bias opinion. She spoke only a few words during the meal but "more" was the one that sealed the deal...
not to mention...
WHEN DINNER WITH DANICA GOES CRAZY!
RECAP:
First: DJ tries to use a fork, but every time she gets it to her mouth it falls off...."uh oh" she says as she picks it up with her free hand and stuffs it in her mouth...
Next: She hands me the fork..."Ha", good idea I thought. I can at least keep it from falling...off of the fork. She takes a big bite and about half hangs on her chin and finally falls...
Step 1: Teach her how to "slirp" I went first and she quickly caught on...but only a little
Let's try this: A spoon. YES she's doing good but turns the spoon upside down when its in her mouth and food falls out...lol...TBS says that it's "very funny"
Let's have fun: However you want to eat it D, go for it...hands, spoon, whateva
Seconds: ...she wanted seconds...
..done..?: As she holds up the bowl with remnants of spaghetti on the bottom and sides, my sister (mommy) say's quickly, "You better take it from her or she's gonna drop it on the floor"..."I better take her advice", I thought to myself as I grabbed the bowl.
YAY DJ is full, I'm full, mom's full and sista-mom is finally getting to eat because Emmy (my youngest niece) has gotta eat too!
"HIGH FIVE" and fist "pOwn"s are in order!
and yes...SHE SAYS BOTH AND CAN DO BOTH....
...and so we did...
My hands were messy, her face looked like Pizza Face off of the show "ALL THAT" and we all had a good time!
PROPS TO DJ FOR DINNER FUN! PROPS TO MA FOR DINNER DELICIOUS! PROPS TO SISTA-MOM, YOUR THE COOLEST!
...and Tiff, please post a pic of the 2 lovely ladies!
Keep it mellow and jam to yellow...The Lemon Song that is.
